The Oklahoma Virtual School™ (OKVS™) started out as a private, online school founded in 2003 by a small group of forward-thinking parents and educators. In late 2011 we formed a partnership with Orion Online Learning Incorporated, and their three schools:  Orion High School, Orion Middle School, and Orion Elementary School.  The reason we chose Orion as our partner is because Orion's has a number of years of experience as a fully accredited, 100% online, private school, and because the partnership would give us an opportunity (through their experienced mentors and staff) to provide world class learning to all students.  Becoming a partner with us, meant that our focus  on results-driven methods that fuel creativity and imagination, could be met by having a great partner such as Orion.

While most educators take a generalized approach to "teaching" students, Orion takes a one-to-one approach, where the mentor guides and assists, while the learner explores for learning.
